It was a mega-spending window, breaking multiple records. Premier League clubs alone spent a record breaking & breath taking £3.46 billion ($4.67 billion) on new player signings. The English top flight saw around 154 senior first-team signings during the mentioned window. Man City invested approximately £440m to £458m, the most by any club this season. The Blues followed with spending of £342-349m. On the other hand, if you only consider net spending, then Liverpool finished ahead of any PL side with £219.4m. In this list, Ipswich (£190.7m), Spurs (£176m) and Arsenal (£136.6m) followed, according to Sky Sports.

If you look outside the English Premier League, Real Madrid spent a total of €240 million, including Diomande’s €125 million arrival. FC Barcelona invested €173 million, while other European giants like PSG engulfed €152 million & Bayern only put out €81.1 million.
